This was truly one of the best experiences we’ve ever paid for! We started at the local market, where we shopped alongside locals and learned how to pick fresh fruits and vegetables, the history behind the ingredients, and the traditions that make Mexican food and family culture so special. We visited a place where they make fresh masa, then went to the cooking location above a tequila store where we made fresh margaritas and cooked an incredible meal using fresh ingredients. Francisco was amazing! He was knowledgeable, welcoming, and made sure everyone was included — even accommodating guests who were vegetarian or didn’t eat pork. This wasn’t just a cooking class; it was a genuine cultural experience. We learned, laughed, cooked, and connected with the community. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Cabo. Absolutely unforgettable! 🇲🇽❤️

This was a great class. There were 16 in the class and there was plenty of room for everyone. We started with an overview of the class and then went shopping for the ingredients. We went to a local tortilla factory, a produce market, and a meat shop. All were where the locals went for good, fresh food. Came back and learned how to make margaritas (a necessity for the class). We made salsa and then roasted poblano peppers for the chile rellenos. We make the vegetable ingredients and then fried them. We finished by eating enchiladas, the chile rellenos and good guacamole. I believe that a great time was had by all. I would highly recommend this event.

This is the 3rd cooking class that we have taken with Enrique. They were all delicious, unique and educational. We came away with many very useful tips and ingredients that we plan to use in our everyday cooking going forward. We learned many advanced cooking techniques, as well as were introduced to ingredients that we,were not previously familiar with. Every meal was completely different and delicious. These cooking classes are a step above and we felt our time and expense were well spent. We will definitely add this to our itinerary the next time we are in Puerto Vallarta.

Great overall experience, margaritas and food were so delicious. We had nine people in our class and would love if that could be smaller. There weren't enough chairs for everyone (table seats 8) so they had to find a skinny hard and very uncomfortable chair for one person in our group. We did this class the year before with 5 people and it was perfect. Definitely a lot more hands on with less people. Also, not the biggest fan of the pre-cocoa tasting. Could just be me- but I would not need to do that again. To be clear- the food at the cooking class was SO good!

We absolutely loved this tour! The host was charming, knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Mexico, the region, and most importantly the food. You can tell they absolutely love what they do and sharing that unique culture and experience with everyone. We normally do at least one food tour every trip we take, and I think this is my new first place amongst a significant list of places…and considering that list includes places like New York, Seattle, san Francisco, L.A, Paris, Rome, Florence, Amalfi, and Playa Del Carmen, plus we live in Vancouver BC which is a foodie destination in itself, I was impressed! I must say, they come out the gate strong with their own house Tacos, which I think were the best I’ve had to date. I will definitely be going back if we get another chance to just fill our bellies at their restaurant. I strongly recommend to come with an empty stomach cause we left stuffed, and make sure you have a desire to try new flavours, and you won’t be disappointed!

I’ve been to Cabo many times and have done all of the cool outdoors excursions but this is the first time I’ve tried the cooking experience (didn’t know it was available 🤦🏻♀️) This was a fun, enjoyable, learning experience! Started with an informative lesson about cacao and its importance historically. Then proceeded to the tortilla market, (AMAZING!!!! warm and delicious) local produce market, local butcher shop and then on to their family home to learn to cook. Learned that they share their home six days a week to strangers with so much warmth and grace! Very cool, fun filled time with great homemade food! I would recommend this experience to anyone! 5 stars!!

Cookin’ San Jose was the best cooking class my husband and I have ever taken! Francisco led us through a local market and educated us on different Mexican produce, meats, peppers, and spices. We then went and got local fresh corn tortilla dough before going back and preparing all of the food. Throughout the whole experience, we felt so involved and well educated. We loved the hibiscus margaritas, but the carnitas tacos were the show stopper! If you’re coming to Cabo, I would highly recommend doing a cooking class with Cookin’ San Jose!!!

They all said it was one of the best excursions we’ve done in PV, and we’ve done a lot over the past years. Enrique and his family were wonderful. Food was great. And we enjoyed visiting the local markets. We will do it again next trip. Or perhaps try the taco tour.

Where do I start..Simply put, great food, great company, and a great guide Alan! The wife and I booked this experience as one of the first solo things to do in San Jose del Cabo. After being dropped off at the local market, we didn't know really what to expect. Our amazing tour guide Alan arrived promptly on time and took us to to a tortilla producing facility (where we sampled fresh flour tortillas) and then gave us a mini tour of the market, telling us about different ingredients used in "tacos."We then spent the next hour or two walking around various eateries and having a taco. While alcoholic beverages weren't included (which is clearly stated in their bookings, so we knew), we still had the opportunity to purchase some great margaritas from one of the establishments. The "tacos" on this tour (I say this as we tried different types of tacos) were some of the best I've ever had.An added bonus was a Tequila tasting at their shop. While I am a bourbon drinker through and through, I got some great education on Tequila, and found some that I loved.Alan was engaging and charismatic throughout the entire process. While the food was out of this world, his energy is what made the tour. A quick note: Alan gave us his number so we could come back and continue to find some tequilas I liked. My wife and I wanted to light a candle at the Mision de San Jose, but couldn't find one anywhere in the shops on the square. After a quick text to Alan for guidance, he showed up with a candle and matches. Just showing that he truly cared and goes above and beyond.100% highly recommend this tour!

My friend and I did the Market/Cookin Vallarta tour with Chef Enrique and it was fabulous! I didn't want to go on a cooking tour, but went to be a good host to my guest who really wanted to go....I am SO glad I did! This is not to be missed. We shopped at the market and learned about lots of ingredients (including tips on buying the freshest fish, the hottest chiles, etc.), and then went to Chef's home to cook. There were 8 of us, which was the perfect size. We made 6 salsas, birria with adobo sauce, squash blossom flower soup and homemade corn tortillas. The tortilla-making lesson was absolutely incredible, taught by Chef Enrique's wife. Take this tour! You won't be disappointed! I'm going to do it again next time in Vallarta.

Really great experience. Had a great time with Issi cooking mahi tacos and paella in his home with a small group after having a great explanation of cacao and mole from Carolina in the main location. We were able to decide which fish to cook while at the fish market, visited a tortilla factory but also made our own tortillas to compare. I came back the next day to get some mole paste and tequila to bring home. Highly recommend this local family business.

The tour was perfect! David spoke perfect English and made sure we ate at all the yummy local places in town. Make sure to save room for the tacos al pastor and quesa birria tacos and for the mango paleta. So yummy! The tour then ended with a great tequila and mezcal tasting with Jorge. Jorge was great at explaining the tequila production process and at teaching us how to taste the tequila. Would highly recommend this tour if you’re looking for a great way to experience the local culture while in Cabo San Lucas.

We did the Cooking, Salsa Dancing and Mixology class and loved it. There are about 10 different activities- making margs/palomas/pico/guac/tortillas, multiple dances, a chocolate tasting and a tequila tasting. Plus dinner. Wishing we learned more dances, but everything else was 💯

Good experience but price a bit high considering the actual cost of tacos. We did appreciate the chance to taste local, authentic tacos, but the new chocolate upsell and tequila tasting seemed like just another push for more money in a vey touristy town. Our guide was 👍 great.
