About Food Tours

1How long is your Food Tour?
Our food and culture walking tour has been designed to last from 3 to 4 hours, we walk slowly and try to show you the most possible of our town, no rush.
2Are the gratuities included in the price?
We do not include gratuities in the price of our activities; a suggested gratuity is the 15% of the price per participant.
3Is the Mexican street food safe to eat?
Yes, we have selected the eateries beacuse of their cleanliness, hygienic standards and of course the flavor.
4Can you organize a private food tour for our group?
Yes, for this purpose we need to be notified in advance.
5Do we have to walk long distances?
For the Food tour you will be leaded through a route of approximately 1.5 miles however we stop at each place for several minutes and we have chances to rest at the sight and tastings stops - In the Cooking class we have no long walking distances.
6What should I bring?
For all of Cookin' Vallarta activities bring a big appetite, camera, comfortable clothes and shoes, extra cash for shopping or tips.
7Do I get picked up at my hotel?
The Food tour is a walking tour and we meet and start from an specific meeting and departure point in downtown PV.
8Is the tour in English or Spanish?
We speak English, French and Spanish (all of them with a Mexican accent).

About Cooking Classes

1How long is the Mexican Cooking class?
We meet at 10 am and we have programmed it for you to head back to your hotel at 3:00 pm, however if the group demands it we can share some more Tequila !
2Are the gratuities included in the price?
We do not include gratuities in the price of our activities; a suggested gratuity is the 15% of the price per participant.
3Can you make the class in our location instead of yours?
Yes, we can, in that case you choose the menu and the time of your meal; it can be lunch or dinner (subject to availability).
4What will I be learning?
We'll share with you different aspects of the local and Mexican culture, the origin of the recipes and ingredients and the way to handle them.
5Do you have the same menu every day?
In the Cooking class we have a different menu for each day of the week, each one from different regions of Mexico; some days we combine menus to enrich the flavors and in other ocassions we use native indigenous ingredients and prehispanic cooking techniques to create very special dishes.
6How many drinks are included per person?
The cooking class includes bottles of water, "aguas frescas" (fruit juice refreshments) and one shot of Tequila for pairing your meals - For the Food Tour we reccomend that you bring a bottle of water however we will provide some refreshing tastings.
7Do I have to be a skilled cook?
All you need to be is a foodie eager to learn and have fun.
8Where do the lesson and meal take place?
Groups of 8 people or less will be invited to cook in the Chef's home.
9Do I get picked up at my hotel?
Because of the big amount of hotels in PV and Nuevo Vallarta, we have an specific central meeting point; this helps us to provide a better service and for you not to have to wait so long before we pick up the next participant,at the end of the day we drive you back to the departure point. This applies only for the Cooking class.
10Can you organize a private cooking class for our group?
Yes, for this purpose we need to be notified in advance.
11Will I actually get to cook?
Yes, our Mexican Cooking class is hands -on and we cook everything from scratch.
12Is the class in English or Spanish?
